A Morocco trip cost depends on four things: how many days you travel, the season, the level of hotels you choose, and how many people share the trip. For a private tour with your own driver and guide, most of our travelers spend between about $1,900 and $3,800 per person on the land portion of the trip, before flights. Ten days with comfortable 4 star riads and hotels sits in the middle of that range.
This guide shows real price ranges from the trips we plan, explains what is included and what is not, and lists the extras worth budgeting for, so you can plan with numbers instead of guesses.
Morocco Trip Cost by Length and Hotel Level
These are approximate prices per person for our two most popular routes, based on two travelers sharing a room.
| Trip | Standard 3* | Affordable Lux 4* | Deluxe 5* |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 days: The Highlights of Morocco | about $1,900 to $2,300 | about $2,400 to $2,900 | On request |
| 14 days: Essence of Morocco | about $2,500 to $3,000 | about $3,400 to $3,800 | On request |
Prices are estimates per person and change with season, hotel availability and group size. The per person price goes down as the group gets larger. Deluxe 5 prices vary widely between properties, so we quote them on request.*

Shorter and custom trips are priced route by route. A 7 or 8 day trip, a slower route with fewer hotel changes, or a trip built around a special interest each gets its own quote. To compare routes first, see our Morocco itinerary planner.
What Changes the Price of a Morocco Trip
Season
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December) are the most popular months, and hotel rates rise with demand. January, February and June to August cost less. Summer is hot inland and winter brings cold desert nights, so the savings come with a trade off. Our guide to the best time to visit Morocco explains each month.
Hotel level
The difference between Standard 3* and Affordable Lux 4* on a 10 day trip is roughly $500 to $600 per person. At the 4 star level you stay in hand picked riads in the medinas, a comfortable desert camp with private bathrooms, and hotels with more space and better service. The jump to Deluxe 5* is larger and depends heavily on the properties you choose.
Group size
A private tour includes a vehicle, a driver and a guide for your group alone, and those costs are shared. Two travelers pay more per person than a family of four, and a larger group pays less again. Solo travelers pay more per person because nothing is shared, including the room.
Booking time
Prices rise closer to the travel date as demand grows and hotels fill. Riads in particular have few rooms, so booking early secures better choices, especially for larger groups and peak months.
What Is Included in Your Morocco Trip Cost
Our private tour prices are all inclusive for the main parts of the trip:
- Airport pickup and drop off in Casablanca or Marrakech
- A private, air conditioned vehicle with an English speaking driver, for your group only
- Hand picked riads and hotels, and a desert camp in Merzouga
- Daily breakfast, and dinners in selected cities based on your route
- Guided city tours, including the Fes medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Marrakech
- Entrance to selected monuments during the guided tours
- Excursions along the route and the camel trek in the Sahara
- Guidance and support throughout the trip

What Is Not Included
- International flights
- Tips and gratuities
- Travel insurance
- Lunches, and dinners outside the included nights
- Majorelle Garden in Marrakech, which is best booked online ahead of time
- Quad biking in the dunes, an optional extra at about $60 per person per hour, paid on site to a local agency
Extras Worth Budgeting For
Beyond the tour price, plan a daily amount for lunches, drinks, tips for your driver and guides, and shopping in the souks. Carpets, leather, ceramics and argan oil are the purchases most travelers end up making, and they are easy to underestimate.
Some travelers add experiences in Marrakech, such as a cooking class, a hammam, or a hot air balloon flight. See our list of Marrakech experiences you can book.
Flights to Morocco
Flights are the one large cost outside the tour, and fares change too often to quote here. Most travelers from the US fly into Casablanca or Marrakech, and we build the first and last days of the trip around your flight times. We do not book flights, so you are free to use your airline miles or the fare that suits you best.
Private Tour vs Planning It Yourself
Renting a car looks cheaper on paper, but mountain roads, medina parking and navigation take real effort, and you lose the guide who explains what you are seeing. Our guide to driving in Morocco covers what to expect.
Trains are comfortable between Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes and Marrakech, but they do not reach the Sahara, the Atlas Mountains or the valleys. Group bus tours cost less, but you share the pace and the hotels with strangers.
Very cheap private tours usually cut corners somewhere: older vehicles, hotels far from the medina, or a driver who does not speak English. We explain what to look for in are cheap Morocco tours a scam?
Luxury Trips
Our Deluxe 5* trips follow the same classic routes with palace hotels, a luxury desert camp and the finest riads in each city. Because these properties vary so much in price, every luxury trip is quoted individually. See an example in our luxury Morocco tour.
How Booking and Payment Work
- Get your quote. Tell us your dates, group size and hotel level, and we send a route and price.
- Confirm with a deposit. The deposit confirms your booking and locks the quoted price.
- Pay half the balance 60 days before travel.
- Pay the rest on arrival in Morocco, in cash or by credit card (a 5% card fee applies).
Groups confirm their final number of travelers 60 days before the trip. Full terms are in our refund and cancellation policy.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a 10 day trip to Morocco cost?
A 10 day private tour costs about $1,900 to $2,300 per person with Standard 3* hotels, and about $2,400 to $2,900 with Affordable Lux 4* hotels, based on two travelers sharing. Flights are extra.
Is Morocco expensive to visit?
Morocco costs less than most of Europe for the same level of comfort. The biggest costs are flights and transport between cities, which is why a private tour that covers transport, hotels and guides gives a clear total up front.
Is it cheaper to visit Morocco in summer?
Yes. January, February and June to August carry lower prices. Summer is very hot inland and in the desert, so many travelers choose spring or autumn and accept the higher price.
Does a solo traveler pay more?
Yes. Our prices are based on two people sharing, so a solo traveler pays more per person for the vehicle, the driver and the room.
Do I have to pay the full amount up front?
No. A deposit confirms the booking, half of the balance is due 60 days before travel, and the rest is paid on arrival in Morocco.
What is the best way to keep the Morocco trip cost down?
Travel in a lower priced month, choose Standard 3* hotels, travel with family or friends to share the costs, and book early.
