A luxury Morocco tour is built around where you stay. It combines hand-picked 5-star hotels and riads, a luxury desert camp in the Sahara, and a private driver and guide who take care of everything between them.
This guide walks through a private 10-day luxury route, explains what makes the accommodations different, and shows what is and is not included, so you know what to expect before you ask for a quote.
What makes a luxury Morocco tour?
Luxury is easy to claim and hard to check. These are the points that tell you whether a tour is really luxury.
| What to check | On a Simply Morocco luxury tour |
|---|---|
| Hotel level | Deluxe 5* hotels and riads, hand-picked for quality and comfort |

| Guide and driver | A private English-speaking driver and guide throughout |
| Pace | Two nights in the Sahara, and guided city days in Fes and Marrakech |
| Shopping | No forced shopping stops |
A luxury Morocco tour route, city by city
This is the 10-day route we use as the base for luxury trips. Every stop includes a 5-star stay, and the route can be adjusted to your pace.
Casablanca. Arrive, meet your driver and guide, and settle into a 5-star hotel. Visit the Hassan II Mosque before you head north.
Chefchaouen. The blue mountain town, with a 5-star stay and an unhurried walk through the old streets. The town is built on a hillside with stairs, so it can be shortened or removed if you prefer.
Fes, with Meknes and Volubilis. Two days in the medieval medina, with a guided tour on the second day, plus Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis on the way. Your 5-star hotel gives you a calm base after busy medina days.
Aguelmame Sidi Ali. A quiet lakeside overnight that breaks the long drive south, with dinner included.
Merzouga, in the Sahara. Two nights at a luxury desert camp, with a camel trek into the dunes at sunset.
Dades Valley and Ouarzazate. The road south passes gorges, kasbahs and Ait Benhaddou, the fortified village. The climb at Ait Benhaddou is optional. Dinner is included at your stay in Dades and in Ouarzazate.
Marrakech. Two nights in a 5-star stay, with a guided tour of the medina, souks, palaces and gardens on the second day.
For the full route, see our 10-day Morocco itinerary.
The luxury Sahara night at Merzouga
For many travelers, the desert is the heart of the trip, and the camp matters. On a luxury tour you stay at a luxury camp near the Merzouga dunes, with private tents, not a basic shared camp.
- Two nights: You get a full evening and morning in the dunes, time to rest after the drive, and no rush.
- The camel trek: You ride into the dunes at sunset. The trek is included in the tour.
- Dinner: Dinner at the camp is included.
- Stars and silence: Far from city lights, the night sky is one of the highlights.
Quad biking in the dunes is an optional extra, booked on arrival at the camp. Read more in our guide to the Moroccan Sahara, and see what to pack for a Morocco desert trip.
